RBT Data Collection and Graphing Quiz (Measurement)
Domain A, Data Collection and Graphing, is 13 of the 75 scored questions on the RBT exam (the Task List called it Measurement until 2026). Each attempt draws 20 questions from our 78 on this domain, spread across its 8 tasks, and checks every answer as you go.

Sample Data Collection and Graphing questions
During a session, the RBT gives the instruction to clean up the toys and starts a stopwatch immediately. The RBT stops the watch the moment the client picks up the first toy. What is the RBT measuring?
Show the answer
C. Latency
Latency is the time between an instruction and the start of the response, which is exactly what the stopwatch is timing here. Duration would instead time how long the cleaning itself takes once it starts.
Compared with the actual amount of time a behavior occurs, how do partial interval and whole interval recording tend to differ?
Show the answer
D. Partial interval tends to overestimate it, and whole interval tends to underestimate it
Partial interval recording scores an interval if the behavior occurs at any point, so brief behavior fills whole intervals and the total looks larger than it was. Whole interval recording scores an interval only if the behavior lasts all of it, so any break drops the interval and the total looks smaller.
A client's plan scores handwriting from each finished worksheet. A letter counts as correct only if it sits on the line and is closed where it should be. How should the RBT score the worksheet?
Show the answer
A. Check every letter against both criteria and count the letters that meet both
Permanent product data are scored against the definition in the plan, so the RBT checks each letter for both stated criteria. Counting any readable letter or judging overall neatness swaps in the RBT's own standard and makes the scores inconsistent from one day to the next.
